Daniel Jones is a London-based double platinum-certified artist, multi platinum-certified composer and gold-certified producer whose work is deeply rooted in South African radio culture. He co-wrote and composed the iconic Est8 Piano Mix of “These Tears” (with Spiritchaser), a multi-platinum / double-platinum RISA-certified South African No. 1 (2013) that spent over eight weeks at the top, 38 weeks in the Top 10, ranked among the most-played records on South African radio in 2012–2013, and resurged strongly in 2024.

Its distinctive piano hook was sampled on Kwesta’s triple-platinum “Spirit” (feat. Wale, 2018 SA Music Awards Record of the Year nominee) and Visca & Zee_nhle’s “Ngizojabula” (Sony Music, May 2025), which drew millions of streams in its first two weeks.

Jones’s compositions have been synchronised extensively across international networks. Writing as Empire St8, his music featured in the finale of The Grand Tour Mongolian Special (Amazon Prime). Further credits include Love Island (ITV), CBS’s CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Ringer (US Network), The Island with Bear Grylls, BBC Radio, Netflix’s Young Famous and African, theme music and idents for Don’t Look Down TV, and brand campaigns for Hyundai, Jameson, Telkom, SPL, Takealot, Bisquit & Dubouché, Nando’s, Score Energy Drink and BMW. He has also contributed compositional work and production to hundreds of compilations on Sony, Ministry of Sound, Kontor and Armada.

He produced the D&B Remix of Blu Cantrell & Sean Paul’s 2003 UK Gold-certified No. 1 “Breathe” (No. 1 UK, Ireland and European Top 100 for four weeks). He co-owns Kinetic Music Group, with exclusive worldwide publishing through Bucks Music Group Ltd.

Recent compositions include “Dreaming” (with BLVRD & Rory Hope, released 31 July 2026, KMG Records) and the forthcoming “Love Memo” (with BLVRD & Idun Nicoline, late August 2026).
